What does your brand stand for and is that communicated on your website?

When it comes to marketing we hear a lot about brands. Businesses tend to focus on logo and brand colours, however branding is so much more than this. You need to decide whether your website reflects the values you’re trying to represent. When a client lands on your site will they know who you are and what you stand for?

Whether your company has a strong brand or you’re eager to develop one, WEBPRO are experienced in working with companies to help them find their voice. Here are a few things to think about below:

Does your website sound like you?

It’s natural to focus on the look of your website when you’re thinking about your brand. However just as important as the look of the website is the language used and how that comes across to your audience. Is your website chatty and down-to-earth or professional and formal? Whatever you choose make sure all your content is written in a consistent tone.

Is it sending the message you want?

If your business is focussed on growth, and in fact growing at a rapid pace, then you want that message to come across loud and clear on your website. If you’re a family business, focussed on putting the needs of the customer before profit then make sure your website reflects that too. Decide on your messages then think about how to deliver them.

Do the visuals reflect your company culture?

Think about logo, colours and all the various visual elements that build up a picture of your brand. For example, stock photos can be great, especially if you don’t have a lot of visuals of your business, however choosing the right ones can be so important. Certain stock images can come across as cheesy and inauthentic!

Do you share the right kind of content?

Or any content at all? Depending on your business, your consumers will expect a certain type of content from you. Sharing articles around relevant topics with insightful information or thought-provoking opinions on relevant industry news, positions you as a subject matter expert and helps your company build a profile within the industry. Google places a lot of emphasis on content marketing, so it also helps you climb the rankings for your targeted keywords.

Are you proud to share your website?

When clients come to us often we hear them say that they’ve got to the point where they’re embarrassed to share their website with their clients. If you feel like that, then that’s usually because your website doesn’t reflect your brand! When it does, then you’ll want to share it with anyone and everyone!
