What role does psychology play when it comes to how successful a brand is?

Psychology plays a very important role when it comes to branding and how successful or otherwise it can be. Colours, shapes and fonts all have different meanings behind them and can convey different emotions. It's important to think about these things when creating a brand and to work with someone who understands all of the implications of the choices made when creating a new brand, or reworking an existing one.

Should I include a strapline with my logo?

Adding a strapline to a logo can be a nice addition, however it depends how complex the logo itself already is. It's important to keep it simple and not add too many elements. It's also important to think about where your logo will be used and how legible a strapline would be. However, this is less important as a good graphic designer will provide you with different versions of your logo, with and without the strapline, to be used where appropriate.
