Launching a new business is all about getting your products and services known so you can start selling. The optimum way to achieve this is to get your target market recognising your brand because people buy from brands – not businesses. The same applies if you’ve recently rebranded and want to grow sales.

We’ve revealed some of the best ways to increase brand visibility below. And you can always call and chat with our expert branders for more information or to discuss rebranding services.

What is a brand?

A brand is one of the most difficult concepts to explain. Even if you already know what a brand is, it can be troublesome to define branding. We know it’s not just a logo, a font, a colour scheme, a tone of voice and business values – but it’s all of those things and possibly more rolled into one. Branding is an agglomeration of things that stirs a feeling inside the consumer. People don’t buy from businesses; remember, they buy from brands.

What’s the benefit of increased brand visibility?

Increasing the visibility of your brand has many benefits. Some of the main benefits of increasing brand visibility are:

  • Your brand becomes seen by more people
  • The more people see your brand the more recognisable it becomes
  • The more recognisable your brand is, the more people trust your brand, products and services
  • The more people trust your brand the easier it is to make sales
  • Brand exposure is essential for business growth

How to increase brand visibility?

There are lots of ways to increase brand visibility. But we like to categorise all of these methods into four distinct areas, which are:

  1. Cover all target market touchpoints
  2. Make sure your brand is always consistent
  3. Market your brand – not just your products and services
  4. Get involved with the local community

We have discussed these four areas in detail below.

Cover all touchpoints

Your brand should exist across any and all client touchpoints. Many businesses miss some of the touchpoints, which are missed opportunities to get your logo seen and promote your brand. The most obvious places to instil your branding are your website, social media accounts and marketing campaigns (more on marketing shortly). But there are other places your branding should be visible that are often neglected, such as business cards, email signatures, stationery and building signage. Don’t forget these branding opportunities for maximum brand exposure.

Brand consistency

There’s no point in exposing your brand at every opportunity if your branding isn’t consistent across all mediums. Everyone who comes into contact with your brand should be receiving the same messages, either written or otherwise. If your brand isn’t consistent, it can be easy for unfamiliar leads to believe your brand is the result of two or more different companies. This is the opposite of what you’re trying to achieve by maximising brand visibility and familiarity.

Market your brand

Using marketing campaigns allows you to expose more people to your products and services. But don’t forget that this is an opportunity to also increase brand visibility. There are some easy wins to increase brand visibility through your marketing, such as adding logos, slogans, etc.

But you can go deeper than this. Marketing campaigns are an opportunity to specifically market your brand as well as your products or services. Use the opportunity to highlight what your brand stands for and what it’s all about. For example, you might want to launch a humorous campaign if you want your brand to be known as more lighthearted.

Be involved in the local community

Getting your brand recognised by local people is essential if these people are also your target market. Get involved with community events to get your brand known. For example, you could sponsor local events and sports teams, or be active in the community by showing up to events. Making community donations is also a great way to make your brand known. These types of branding efforts are ideal if you want to social-proof your business values, which can then be promoted on your site through blogs or newsletters.

Recap…

Making your brand more visible will attract more leads and increase consumer trust, leading to a greater market share. You increase your brand visibility by applying your brand to all touchpoints, from your website to your email signature. You will need to keep your brand consistent to maximise familiarity and market your brand as well as your products. Getting involved in the local community is another fantastic way to increase visibility among local audiences while promoting business values.
