The need for a new website

"The website really didn't sell us, so the advisers wouldn't refer people to the website because they thought it was hindering them".

During her recruitment, Head of Marketing Fiona Nicolson used the old Nedbank Private Wealth website to research the business, however found it did not explain what they actually do. It also lacked their passion and many Nedbank Private Wealth advisers felt the same way, to the extent that they had stopped advertising it to potential clients.

With the shortcomings of the existing website acknowledged, and Fiona on board, it was time to think about what was needed.

"We were after an easily navigable website… and we wanted it to be unique and modern."

"You had developed some outstanding websites for the Quilter advisers for their own brands so I was aware of what you could do."

WEBPRO had a longstanding relationship with Fiona when she took up her new role with Nedbank Private Wealth so she was already aware of our abilities and how we operate as a business. The rest of the team were convinced by examples of our previous work, client testimonials and the fact that we cover a wide range of services. This holistic approach resonated with Nedbank Private Wealth's desire for a streamlined and integrated solution, ensuring a cohesive online presence.

Fiona pointed out that the final decision was also influenced by WEBPRO's very competitive pricing. Nedbank Private Wealth felt that working with WEBPRO would be cost-effective without compromising on quality and they went ahead with a bespoke website and tailored SEO project.

The process

The team at Nedbank Private Wealth were very grateful for the initial stages of the project and the meticulous and comprehensive exploration of who Nedbank Private Wealth is and what they were looking for instilled a lot of confidence in them.

Content (and more content)

Initially, the level and complexity of content required for the new Nedbank Private Wealth website was underestimated on both sides. This did come as a shock, particularly to those within Nedbank Private Wealth who were responsible for writing the content, however it did spark a constructive process whereby everything was rewritten with purpose.

"We have a better idea of how important content is in such a unique website. Now we are very well versed in what we do, and it has made us think about what our proposition is."

The result is a website full of content that is a true reflection of the business and the services on offer. It is not only valuable to users but also to search engines, the proof of which is in the increase in rankings soon after the new website was made live.

An ongoing relationship

Post-launch, the response to the new website has been nothing but positive and the whole team at Nedbank Private Wealth have a website that they are proud of and that reflects who they are and what they offer to clients.

"The biggest thing for me is that the initial discussion on what we wanted is in the actual live site."

Nedbank Private Wealth understand that a website is never finished and so we will be working with them to continue to make tweaks and amendments going forwards to keep the website fresh and a true reflection of the business. We are also moving into an in-depth SEO project that will focus on increasing valuable user content to improve rankings and bring in more new clients.
