“You didn’t mind how many iterations we went through”

We recently chatted with one of our long-term clients, Geoffrey, who owns a manufacturing business in the HVAC, plumbing, heating and bathroom niches. As one of our clients, he has a “fit-for-purpose” and professional website that helps him attract and convert business. The name of his business is Davidson Holdings and his website can be found here.

Finding WEBPRO

We asked Geoffrey how he came to work with WEBPRO. His partnership with WEBPRO stems back many years and pre-dates some staff members' employment within the agency. He came to know about WEBPRO because he was working with a marketing expert and SEO professional who recommended several website design agencies to Geoffrey. One of those was indeed WEBPRO and, after a meeting with WEBPRO owner Anton, he decided to proceed with our services.

The design process

Geoffrey had to cast his mind back some years but he remembers the process starting with a consultation whereby he made his vision clear and our team came up with possible website solutions. However, Geoffrey remained part of the process by coming up with the content required to complete the website, stating:

“What was great was how patient you were with me and how helpful you were in guiding me to make the website happen”

By taking a proactive part in the website’s development, we believe clients get a better result that is even closer to their vision and business needs. If you do decide to work with our team, we are more than happy to advise and accommodate you as part of the journey. This includes frequent discussions on what decisions will be best for you.

“The website took a long time”

Geoffrey admits that the website took a longer time to complete than he was expecting, which was down to several factors. Not only did he have to provide input along the journey – requiring his own time which is often scare – but he also needed a product-based website.

For many clients, we can provide stock imagery or bespoke graphics that can be managed almost exclusively by our creative team. However, Geoffrey’s product-based website needed specific images to match each product which had to come from Geoffrey and his team. He admitted being surprised with how much work was involved from his side and this did lead to delays. It’s an important lesson for our team to take on board. We strive to set realistic expectations on when clients should expect their website to be completed, with timeframes tailored to their exact situation. We always say we’re striving to provide a better service, and this is one way we’re actively improving.

No plans for the future

Geoffrey came to us for a simple website that was easy to manage and looked good and that’s exactly what he got. The Davidson Holdings website is designed to be there for anyone actively looking for them and to help with recruitment, it’s not there to drum up business, therefore there are no plans to grow the website or engage in any online marketing activity.

As a business matures, its goals evolve. A business that is just starting out will have different goals at the beginning of their journey than when it is older.
Creating a website is an essential part of business success but it’s understandably not usually something that business owners specialise in.
Getting any business started can be challenging, especially when you’re in the competitive financial advice sector.
