“Tell me what I need to do and how much it will cost.”

Starting out as a mortgage broker can be challenging. Creating a website is an essential part of business success but it’s understandably not usually something that business owners specialise in. As Jenny Whittle, owner of Roseacre Mortgages admits, she gets hundreds of emails daily and, when it comes to her website and online marketing, just needs to know the cost and potential impact so she can make a decision.

That’s where we stepped in. We sat down with Jenny Whittle to find out about her experience dealing with us and what we could do better.

Who are Roseacre Mortgages?

Roseacre Mortgages started trading in July 2023. They specialise in offering independent mortgage and protection advice. The business has access to a comprehensive range of UK mortgage and remortgage products and they deal direct with lenders for their clients.

Just like WEBPRO, they offer a bespoke service to match their clients’ needs.

How they found us

Jenny informed us she knew she needed help and simply searched Google for “mortgage broker website design”. She remembers looking at the first four, of which we were one, and found the WEBPRO Mortgage website to be the most attractive and user-friendly: the exact attributes she wanted in her own website.

As she said:

“I looked at the templates of sites already designed and they just felt right.”

First contact

Jenny was more than aware that creating the right website is only half the battle. To get the most from her website investment, she needed a team she could trust.

Her first impression of WEBPRO was how easy everything was. Jenny first spoke to Anton and described him as “very helpful”. However, what really impressed her was the help she got from Adela, finding the support she received to be much more than expected. Jenny was thankful for Adela effortlessly helping her connect to Microsoft, her email to her iPhone and set up the necessary security measures via her laptop. As Jenny says, it’s not her area of expertise and getting it sorted was a pleasant and unexpected bonus.

Logo design and website

As a brand new business, Jenny opted to have us design a logo for her. Michelle was there ready to help and she created a beautiful logo along with a letterhead, email signature and business cards that Jenny can call her own. As Jenny says:

“She was brilliant, patient, dynamic and very easy to work with.”

However, the attribute Jenny confessed to loving the most was that everything was kept simple, making it easy for her to make decisions.

The same approach worked for the brand new Roseacre Mortgages website. She chose the design, our team provided an initial draft and Jenny suggested several which were actioned until she was happy with the end result. She was impressed by how quickly everything was changed.

Complications when adding SEO

It’s not all sunshine and rainbows and we always welcome constructive feedback from our clients. While Jenny was very happy with the overall service we provided (and do provide), she did mention a small issue with the SEO project she started after her new website was made live – she did not hear anything from us for a couple of months. Jenny spoke to Anton and it was explained that the initial stages of an SEO project are very research-focussed, meaning it can be quiet whilst this work is done and all of the pertinent information is gathered. We took on board that the process should have been made much clearer to Jenny at the start of the project so she knew what we were going to be doing and when she should expect to see the first piece of work.

Another valuable piece of feedback we received from Jenny was what she received following the initial research – namely the keyphrase and competitor research, both of which are in-depth large pieces of work. Jenny felt that the information was overwhelming and it wasn’t clear what she was supposed to do with it. Again, Anton was able to help, providing the key takeaways so that Jenny was able to provide our team with feedback so they could ensure they move in the right direction. It is important that we provide our clients with all of the information gleaned from our research, however we now ensure that we also provide a high level, key points only summary alongside this.

Ultimately, our clients are investing their hard-earned money, and the future of their business, with us and it’s important they get what they need from the relationship. We were extremely grateful to Jenny for pointing out some of the ways we can improve things for our clients going forwards.
