Public Sector Mortgages
Public Sector Mortgages offer mortgages specifically to clients who work in the public sector, such as the NHS, police and local authority workers. Public Sector Mortgages aims to make getting a mortgage for public sector workers easier by understanding and addressing the challenges they face within the mortgage market, such as pay scales and the difficulty in proving overtime. Ashley Brown, owner of Public Sector Mortgages, has been a client of ours for many years and we’ve worked on bespoke websites for both Moneysprite (his main business website) and Public Sector Mortgages for him. This particular project was a replacement for a simple bespoke website that we created for Public Sector Mortgages several years ago.
A long-term, and growing, partnership
The brief
The previous Public Sector Mortgages website had been a simple image-based website with just enough content to tell people about the services offered and not a lot else. After the initial website was created, we designed some landing pages for a Google Ads campaign that were designed using a more illustrative approach. These were so well received that Ashley asked us to redesign the whole website using this style. He also wanted to use the website to bring in more leads.
Key requirements:
- Retain the more simple structure but add more content for SEO purposes
- Use graphical style from landing pages
- Add more calls to action (CTAs) to encourage leads
- Allow for more 'social proof'
The solution
We kept the simple structure of the original Public Sector Mortgages website but added more content areas on existing pages, as well as a Resources area for more content that really shows off their expertise in the niche area of public sector mortgages.
The switch from stock imagery to illustrations lifts the website and makes it stand out from others, giving Public Sector Mortgages a unique and easily recognisable brand.
Clear and concise CTAs help with lead generation and the addition of prominent areas for reviews and FAQs help to demonstrate the experience the business has within this sector.

The result
The response to the new website has been extremely positive and Ashley has reported that the quality of leads that it has been generating is particularly high. For him, the conversion rate of the website has exceeded expectations and has the added bonus of allowing him to help those that need it most. We are now looking at increasing the Google Ads project to bring in more of those high-quality leads.
