DSPS
DSPS has worked in motorsport since 1986, manufacturing car parts that win races. For them, a close working relationship is crucial for these results, as is their ability to work almost as quickly as the cars they provide parts for. Another new client of WEBPRO's, DSPS was introduced to us by someone we have worked with for many years. They already had a bespoke website but it was time for a refresh.
Full throttle design
The brief
DSPS already had a bespoke website when they were introduced to us, however it was several years old and in need of a refresh before they engaged in planned marketing. In terms of branding, they already had a logo and main brand colours in place, however we felt they would benefit from adding some secondary colours to give them more flexibility.
Key requirements:
- Retain the main structure of the existing website in terms of pages required
- Create a more modern and easily navigated website
- Consider adding secondary brand colours to enhance the look and feel
- Enhance the product areas of the website so they speak for themselves
The solution
The new DSPS website is clean and modern in design, with an easy-to-use menu to allow users to move around the website intuitively. The addition of more brand colours allowed us to make use of clearly defined areas, breaking content up into more manageable pieces to keep visitors engaged. This also allowed us to use colour to direct users to actions such as clicking buttons.
The product pages have been given a makeover, focussing on showcasing the products themselves using large images that were provided by DSPS. We also implemented a Related products feature, directing visitors to similar products that might interest them.
Imagery was a big part of this new website. A lot of the images were provided by DSPS themselves, showcasing the actual products they manufacture. Stock imagery was used sparingly to enhance the storytelling element and we created a set of bespoke line drawings of the product range to add a unique element to the design.
Top features:
- Addition of secondary brand colours to enhance the design
- New intuitive menu to allow for easy navigation
- Clever use of stock imagery to tell a story
- Creation of bespoke line drawings to add a technical element
The result
The client is very happy with their new website and they feel it does everything they need it to do. They are now going ahead with their planning marketing campaign and will likely need some additions to the website to boost this further.
